Dr. Avis Proctor serves as President of Harper College. After she completed her Bachelor's degree in Mathematics Education on a full undergraduate scholarship, she then pursued her Master's degree at FAU in order to fulfill her dream of becoming a math college professor. Avis then achieved her doctorate degree in Higher Education from FIU. After teaching at the high school and college levels, Dr. Proctor focused on her college administrative career, serving as Math Department Chair/Associate Dean, Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, Campus President and Vice President for Academic Affairs. In addition to her passion for education, Dr. Proctor also has a strong musical background that includes piano, violin, clarinet and voice. Her love of music began at the age of four when she began tickling the piano keys, and her love of teaching began at the age of nine when she started teaching piano lessons for her grandmother's music business.

Cosey Proctor began his career in the financial services industry and transitioned into teaching in the K-12 sector. He had a 23-year run in education in Broward County Schools and D211. He maintains his desire to empower students through education as a Student Success Coordinator at Elgin Community College while also pursuing his passion as a licensed real estate professional. Beyond his career, Cosey is a dedicated father and husband and is committed to having a positive outlook on life and lifting up those around him. In his free time, Cosey is an avid sports fan and enjoys keeping up with developments in the financial markets.

While Cosey and Avis are transplants from South Florida, they enjoy calling South Barrington "home" and are the proud parents of one son. They met at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University (FAMU) and are proud Rattlers decades later! While they don't claim to be dancing experts, they are excited to have fun supporting Bacoa!
