Ask to see the parent tree: It is nearby & blooming now!

Amherstia nobilis, also known as the Pride of Burma is a tropical tree with large, showy flowers. Considered "The World's Most Beautiful Flowering Tree" and one of the rarest! A small to moderate sized "Royal Poinciana" relative with dangling chains of salmon-scarlet blooms with orange and yellow lips in late winter. New "weeping" growth hangs like burgundy handkerchiefs.

South Florida is the only locale in the continental U.S. where this tree can grow outside. Choose a sheltered site out of cold NE winter winds. Best in part to full sun and routine irrigation.

Propagated at Mounts Botanical Garden and paired with an avocado red striped ceramic pot.
