26SHS parent, John Kehoe, Director of Sustainability at Guittard Chocolate, will lead you on a sensory journey through the cocoa lands. You will learn about the origin of cocoa and all the steps it takes to transform a cocoa bean into a chocolate bar from the football-shaped cocoa pod to the fermentation and roasting of its beans, to the transformation of the beans into cocoa nibs and liquor (cocoa bean paste), to what we know of as chocolate. Awaken your taste buds while sampling the flavors of cocoa at each of the stages of the chocolate making process. Finish the afternoon with wine and appetizers inspired by the cocoa lands! Adults only!
