The casita is located on a two-acre property speckled with fruit trees and an outdoor kitchen. Frequent avian visitors include the great kiskadee, Wilson's woodpecker, Montezuma oropendola, mot mot, and toucan. There is a resident agouti and a troop of capuchin monkeys are occasional visitors. Costa Rica is a Central American country with a rugged geography, including tropical forests and coasts in the Caribbean and Pacific. Costa Rica is known for its beaches, volcanoes, and biodiversity. Approximately a quarter of its area corresponds to protected jungles, full of fauna, such as spider monkeys and quetzals. Some popular attractions and activities are birdwatching, visiting volcanoes, coffee plantations, farmer's markets, surfing, ATVing, soaking in hot springs, and zip lines. The closest tourism area is La Fortuna/Arenal volcano area, which is known for its waterfall and thermal springs. The town of San Ramon is 10 minutes away with a vibrant farmer's market on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. It has restaurants, grocery stores, a small museum, and a park in the town center.
