LOCATION
La Roque-Gagaec is in the southwest of France, about 150 km north of Toulouse, and the same distance east of Bordeaux. Most visitors fly to Paris/Charles de Gaulle - from there, travel by air, by fast train, or by car. Others travel from Madrid or London and connect to Toulouse by easyjet.com.

Nestled alongside the Dordogne River. Sheltered beneath steep cliffs, La Roque-Gageac, is deservedly designated one of "les Plus Beax Village de France". In medieval times, it was an important fortified village and later saw the addition of renaissance manors, including the Manoir de Tarde. It has retained its authentic character over the centuries, featuring attractive narrow stone streets, and interesting homes, churches, and public buildings. There is a weekly market, fabulous restaurants, and a pizzeria. For recreation, there are boules courts, river beaches, park and canoes for rent.

"Dordogne Village-House"
Tucked between the Dordogne River and steep, dramatic stone cliffs, the village of La Roque Gageac is the picturesque location for this completely renovated stone house. Dating from the Middle Ages, the Dordogne Village-House is reportedly the oldest in the village. There are ancient stone steps gently ascending the hill, leading directly to the house. It offers an excellent opportunity to savor the natural beauty of this distinct area of France, as well as a truly authentic medieval village. This idyllic setting is convenient with wonderful restaurants, casual dining and great pizza within steps from the house.

This convenient floor plan allows for families or friends traveling together to enjoy the large open main floor for meals, conversation and relaxing. Yet have complete privacy with the main floor separating their sleeping quarters.
