Description:

This lined tote bag is made with cotton canvas, and lined with gingham eyelet. The canvas is reinforced with Insul-fleece, a polyester fleece blend which reflects heat and cold back to the source (though not meant for long term frozen or refrigerated storage). The gingham lining is reinforced with midweight interfacing, giving the bag a perfect structure for grocery shopping. The 11" drop of the straps make them the perfect length to carry full, heavy bags over your shoulder.

Machine wash cold, gentle cycle; line dry.

Artist Statement:

As an environmentally conscious member of the LGBTQ community, environmental justice and LGBTQ+ activism go hand in hand. The first version I made of this reusable shopping bag was for myself, but my kids, siblings, friends, and my mom asked for bags as well. My sister is the one that brought GSAFE and the Quilt and Fiber Auction to my attention, as she lives near Madison, whereas I'm in central Illinois. When I saw pictures of her donation to the auction, it inspired me to donate as well. This is such an important and wonderful cause, and I'm thankful that today's youth have allies like GSAFE advocating for them in ways that my LGBTQ+ peers and I never did when I was in school.
