Experience a Shakespeare play for two at one of OSF's three venues - the iconic outdoor Elizabethan Theatre, the Angus Bowmer Theatre, or the Thomas Theatre. The Ashland Springs Hotel is a short walk to the theatres, which are the cultural hub of this charming and beautiful college town. Renowned for its magnificent trees, Ashland, Oregon, offers independent booksellers, creekside restaurants, and a wide array of excellent shops.
Just beyond the festival grounds is Lithia Park, Ashland's crown jewel, designed by landscape architect John McLaren who also designed San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. Lithia Park is a 100-acre oasis of sycamore groves and emerald lawns, a Japanese Garden, hiking trails, duck ponds, pickleball courts, a sand-pit volleyball court, playground, places for picnics, and secluded spots for viewing local wildlife and birds. Within a half-hour drive are the old town of Jacksonville, Harry & David Orchards and Store, and Rogue River Creamery (world-class, sustainable artisan cheeses).
