The Wyland Foundation was contacted by Santa Fe Artist Ju Oshiro in the aftermath of the fires in Lahaina. Oshiro chose to donate this original painting, "Standing Strong," from her body of work for its connections to the pride of native cultures across Americas and Polynesia. In the artist's words, "We currently live in Santa Fe New Mexico and want to do more to help our brothers and sisters in Maui. In a video recently I saw your efforts to donate paintings to help the relief efforts. As an oil painter myself, my paintings are native American, but one I just finished is titled Standing Strong and captures the resolve and spirit of standing strong in the face of adversity."
