The Railroad Creek Valley has existed for millennia, carved out by glaciers and defined by Indigenous people and their care for this place.

We live and gather upon the homelands of the Chelan, the Entiat, the P'Squosa, the Wenatchi-Colville and the Wenatchi-Yakama Tribal Nations.

Holden Village is committed to resisting the erasure of Indigenous histories, following Native leadership, and centering tribal voices. One way we live into this commitment to our indigenous neighbors is through creation of the Indigenous Artist-in-Residence program.

Holden Village was approached by Indigenous members of the community with the specific request for an Artist-in-Residence program.

Your support of the Indigenous Artist-in-Residence program will support multi-week residencies for Indigenous artists to create, participate in Village life, and share artistic and spiritual practices.

Funding for the Indigenous Artist-in-Residence program will cover travel expenses, and equitably compensate participating artists for their time and talent, while supporting artistic growth and career development.
