I teach English language learners to learn English as a second language. I am requesting the funds to purchase iPads for my students to use in my classroom.

In my classroom we are very limited on the technology available for my students to use. The IPads my classroom currently has are outdated and can no longer have the software updated. I am looking to purchase new iPads for my classroom that will allow my ELL students to use them for translating or for using apps on the IPad that can help with their language acquisition. I also want to be able to let the student's use them to create projects and presentations that they can share with the other students, staff, and their families. The project I am hoping to complete with new iPads is allowing my students to create a video about their lives, their families, their culture, their language etc. and how proud they are to be a part of two cultures and two languages. The video would be shared with the school and with the student's parents. The students would record each other and then work collaboratively to create a video that can be shared with others.

Delta Co is a distant town with a population of about 32,000 and the average person makes a median- low income. The school enrolls 60% economically disadvantaged students. The school's minority student enrollment is 41%.
