Robotics is no longer able to share space and tools with the Vo-Ag program. We are now setting up a dedicated Robotics classroom which needs it's own set of tools. We support the FIRST robotics team.

Robotics class supports MoCo Robo, Moffat County High School's FIRST Robotics team. We are no longer able to utilize the Vo-Ag shop as a shared space and need to move our class to a dedicated Robotics classroom. In order to continue building robots, we need to have our own set of tools and equipment. We compete in FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) in which students have the opportunity to learn how to code, design and fabricate all aspects of the robot including how to run all of the electrical, pneumatics, chain drive systems, motors and gearing. We also have opportunities for kids that want to do our website, social media, business plan, marketing and game strategy. In a community that is dependent on a coal-fired power plant slated for closure in the near future, exposing our students to STEM opportunities is critical by giving them the knowledge, tools and confidence to succeed in college and the workforce.

Moffat County is about 82% white, with the primary minority being Hispanic. That holds pretty consistently in the school district, where 18.5% of students come from a primarily Spanish-speaking home. Moffat County High School is made up of 20% students from Spanish-speaking homes. In the district, about 47% of students were qualified for Free or Reduced Lunch last school year. The robotics team is available to all students at the high school.
