Set 30 miles north of midtown Atlanta in Roswell, Settindown Creek is the celebrated "country" course of historic Ansley Golf Club - a tournament-tested Bob Cupp championship layout that has long been considered one of the premier private golf experiences in the state of Georgia. Routed across the floodplain of the Little River and the hilly, wooded north Georgia uplands beyond it, the par-72, 7,332-yard course winds through groves of hardwoods with strategic creek crossings, ponds, and deep penal bunkering on virtually every hole, all defending small, fiercely contoured Cupp greens (a slope of 150 from the Black tees says it all). The course was meticulously reworked by Tyler Rae in 2025 to refine its strategic angles and tournament integrity. Settindown's pedigree of competitive play is unmatched among Atlanta-area private clubs: it has hosted the 2005 U.S. Women's Amateur (won by Morgan Pressel), the Nike Tour Championship, multiple U.S. Open Sectional Qualifiers, a U.S. Senior Open Qualifier, the Met Open, and the Georgia Amateur Championship (1996, 2007, 2012, and 2019). Pair the course with the intown 9-hole "Old Lady" at Ansley's Midtown clubhouse (Stewart Maiden, 1912) and the experience encompasses both ends of southern golf history.
Golf Digest Rankings #17 Best in State, Georgia (2025-'26) - a perennial Best in State top-15 fixture and one of the most decorated Bob Cupp designs in the country.
