Immerse yourself in the rich history and exceptional design of Meadowbrook Country Club, a premier private golf destination nestled in Northville, Michigan. Established in 1916, Meadowbrook has evolved into one of the state's most esteemed golf courses, offering a blend of classic architecture and modern enhancements that provide a challenging yet enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels.
Originally designed by Willie Park Jr., Meadowbrook's course has undergone significant transformations, including expansions by Harry Collis and Jack Daray in the 1920s and a notable remodel by Donald Ross. In 2017, architect Andy Staples reimagined the course, drawing inspiration from Park's Huntercombe Golf Club in the UK. The result is a bold interpretation of early 20th-century architecture, featuring square greens, geometric contours, and steep-faced bunkers set amidst rolling meadows and mature trees.
Meadowbrook's storied past includes hosting the 1955 PGA Championship, won by Doug Ford, and serving as the venue for the longest sudden-death playoff in PGA Tour history during the 1949 Motor City Open. These historical moments, combined with the course's exceptional design and conditioning, make Meadowbrook a must-play destination for golf enthusiasts.
