Melody Ellis - Hanging Plaque
Dimensions: 20" long, 10.5" wide
1.5" from wall w/ concrete backing
Retail Value: $625
This charming plaque features a folksy design of striped pants surrounded by vintage buttons. Hand-written text on navy blue at both the top and bottom of the plaque tell a story. Concrete-backed, the surface of the work is framed and segmented by a warm brown.
The text, written in a free-flowing style, reads:
(top) He owned many pairs of large pants and he wore them every day they were all identical the only way I can tell them apart was from the buttons he used to keep them closed
(bottom) or maybe he just had one pair and spent hours each night carefully removing one button and sewing on another pulled from the large jar he kept on the shelf next to his chair
