This stoneware vase is a tremendous example of Warren's work, featuring a beautiful array of neutral colors, including a mushroom gray and yellowed beige. An excellent addition to any collection.

Bio

Warren MacKenzie received his BFA in ceramics from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and is known for simple, wheel-thrown functional pottery influenced by Bernard Leach (whom MacKenzie apprenticed for from 1950-1952) and the Japanese aesthetic seen in the work of Shoji Hamada. MacKenzie is represented in prominent collections across the United States, including the Art Institute of Chicago, the American Museum of Ceramic Art, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
