JOSH POWELL is a painter, sculptor, and drawer. He prefers to mix the three and work mostly as a mixed media artist. His mixed media work can be found anywhere from gallery walls to out in the public eye. He has earned a BFA at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He generally has somewhat of an initial plot to each piece but mostly works intuitively. Josh wants people to convey a sense of powerful emotions through his 2d/3d narratives. He works mainly amongst the three surrealist rules; juxtaposition, transformation and dislocation.
"My most current work depicts scenes of false landscapes that are about rebuilding a wasteland, a sort of post apocalyptic landscape and what life looks like in its new stage."
