Omaha-based artist, SUSAN KNIGHT, is a Michigan native. She devotes exclusive attention to water and the land that holds it. She extracts patterns from nature to build viewer experiences that abstractly visualize nature's movements and intricate structures. With her primary tool, an Xacto knife, she hand cuts paper, Tyvek, and Mylar. Her work was most recently featured in American Scientist, and appeared in SciArt Magazine twice, Artland Magazine, and in Space+Time, . It was reviewed in Sculpture Magazine and Smithsonian Magazine. It appears in the book, Art Inspired by Science: Imagining The Natural World, by Robert Louis Chianese. Knight is a Nebraska Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship recipient. She was awarded residencies in North Carolina, Colorado, Illinois, and Italy. She earned a BFA in Art from Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, IN, and attended The University of Notre Dame, Glassell School of Art, Houston, and The School of the Chicago Art Institute.
