Artist LAURIE VICTOR KAY, b. 1971, invites the viewer to escape through her work, evoking the psyche which is paramount to the seemingly opposing elements. With a multi-disciplinary approach, LVK blurs the lines between photography, painting, culture and digital medium to reinterpret spaces into idealized imagined worlds from a wide range of subjects throughout the globe. LVK's studies in painting at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and photography at Columbia College Chicago (BFA 1995) inform her practice. Recent projects include The Gratitude Project: a public art installation she created, directed and produced consisting of 14 videos 3-D projection mapped on an 80 foot wide UNMC building to thank healthcare workers during covid. She has created multi-work permanent installations at Lauritzen Outpatient Center UNMC, Buffett Cancer Center, UNMC, Women's Center for Advancement, May River Capital Chicago, 4 World Trade Center, NYC, Marriott Capitol Arts District, Tenaska, as well as numerous private and corporate collections. LVK has collaborated with companies across the globe, Jim Thompson Thai Silk Company and Sole Bicycles. LVK holds strong belief in art's ability to create change, heal, and affect the human spirit. She is an advocate of change.

Recent exhibitions include: Anne Loucks Gallery Fall 2023, Compositions- Spring 2022 Compositions at Gilman Contemporary 2020 Healing+Community at Buffett Cancer Center 2020. LVK serves on the Healing Arts Board for art at UNMC in Omaha.
