LAURA COBB (b. 1989) is a photographer from Overland Park, Kansas, based in Lincoln, Nebraska. She received her Master of Fine Arts at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln (2023). She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Kansas City Art Institute (2013). Cobb has been selected as an artist in residence at Uncross Foundation, Jentel Artist Residency, and Brush Creek Foundation. Her work is in the permanent collection of the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art and has been exhibited regionally and nationally in various group and solo exhibitions. In her thesis work, "am I another you?," Cobb documents a personal search for meaning as she explores her identity as a donor-conceived person. Intimate portraits reveal her search for herself in her family, half siblings and biological father. Paired with the Platte River, water becomes a metaphor for birth and becoming.
