7.5" x 16" x 10"

Nate Nardi | Glass Sculptor & Studio Owner
Atlanta native, Nathan Nardi always found himself drawn to creative expression through making. He discovered his passion for glass blowing in 2001 while at Jacksonville University, where he received the Deans Award for Excellence in Art. He graduated in 2004 with a BFA in glass art, later going on to receive his MFA from Kent State University in Ohio.

Over the past 22 years, Nate has completed many workshops at different craft schools around the country, including the Pilchuck School of Glass and Penland School of Crafts. He is proud to have made commissioned glass objets d'art for several prominent artists, including Kiki Smith. Nate has also assisted with numerous large scale public installation works - specifically Jon Christie's and Caroline Madden's Lyrical Light, at the Times Union Center in Jacksonville, Florida.

Nate's experience with glass, metal and sculpture includes his time as a studio manager for Jason Klein of Historic Glassworks in Pennsylvania and as a glass assistant and head metal fabricator for renowned glass artist, Richard Jolley, in Knoxville, Tennessee.

In 2011 he moved back to his home town and shortly after purchased an old machine shop that would allow him to pursue his dream of making unique hand-blown glass art. At Decatur Glassblowing, Nate creates glass objects, many of which are custom made, as well as offers glassblowing classes to the public. His primary artistic expression is the abstraction of natural form, which can be seen in all of his work whether sculptural, decorative, or functional. Nate now lives on the East side of Atlanta with his wife, Carli, and their two daughters, where they own and operate Decatur Glassblowing together.
