Ceramic

14.5" x 14.5 "

Known for his public art installations, ceramic sculpture, photography, and mixed-
media constructions, Gregor Turk often incorporates mapping imagery, cultural
signage and marking place into his artwork. Turk has had over two-dozen solo
exhibitions. Based in Atlanta, his work is included in the High Museum of Art,
MOCA - GA (Museum of Contemporary Art - Georgia), JPMorgan Chase Art
Collection and numerous other public and private collections. Turk has
permanent public art installations in airports (Atlanta and Jacksonville) as well as
other public facilities including a fire station, police precinct, public library,
schools, and parks. He has also completed numerous private and corporate
projects. Now through July 2024, Turk has a 35' tall installation in the lobby of the
Georgia Museum of Art in Athens. He received his B.A. from Rhodes College
and his M.F.A. from Boston University. Between degrees he served as a Peace
Corps Volunteer in Liberia. Turk's contribution for this year's auction is from his
ongoing Series X. Over 250 tablets in the series serve to convey the overlay of place
through the depiction of intersecting lines and center points. His work can be seen at:
