Sloane was aptly named because her Mom just knew she was going to be a special, tough, and feisty little girl. At 4 months old, Sloane was still visiting her pediatrician often because she was slow to gain weight. Around that time, her parents noticed a small amount of freckling on her chest and abdomen. By 6 months, the small amount of freckles multiplied and many cafe au lait macules also appeared. Genetic testing confirmed that Sloane had NF1, which for her was a spontaneous mutation. Currently, at 2 years old (almost 3) Sloane is a wild, adventurous, and clever little warrior. She loves creating art masterpieces, anything Minnie Mouse, singing songs like Elsa's "Let It Go" and "ABC's", playing dinosaurs and superheroes with her older Brother, dressing up as princesses, wrestling, eating ALL the desserts and loves cuddles with Mom and Dad. Despite her small stature, Sloane continues to find ways to accomplish most of the stunts her brother does. She does get frustrated easily and is not a fan of Doctor visits, but with time we are sure she will be courageous as ever.
