My name is Nolan and I am 8 years old. I am known for giving the best hugs and having a huge, compassionate heart. I also have a pretty good mastery of "Dad jokes," even though I'm only in 2nd grade. I want to be a firefighter/chef when I grow up. I have a huge support system of my family, friends, church, and school that all have taken time to learn about my NF. I even gave my first NF presentation to my 1st grade class last year and made them green and blue cookies. I told them about my Plexiform Neurofibroma Tumor on my liver. We call him, "Bob the Blob." Thankfully, Bob is behaving at the moment and not growing. I also have "Margaret the Migraine" who shows up once in a while causing me to miss school sometimes. I'm one tough cookie. One thing I have found to be thankful for about having NF, is it connects me with other awesome kids with NF. It also gives me a chance to raise awareness and help there to be more research to help other kids. This is why I was so excited to draw a picture for Sketch NF! I drew lots of colorful suns for all of my family and friends and included an NF colored one of blue and green that represents me!
