Painting is Natural. Mixed Media is part of my Surroundings placed into my storytelling through my art. My garden is always evolving and growing. Naturally. Sometimes in mystical ways.

The Ying Yang tree mixed media collage painting. Size 24 x 48. On canvas. Date 2021. Part of a series created in 2019-2022. I used Mixed media, acrylic paint, found objects, and natural objects like leaves, dirt, and feathers. Beads, sticks. Rice paper.

The YING YANG Tree

Like a tree, it grows upwards. And it grows out there are two sides to everything. But which side is better? do we choose? Or do we pick the side that looks easy? On our eyes. Growth on one side of the tree with flowers versus the other side of the tree is silvery and visually frozen with no growth. Too much growth can cause dense branches that can choke themselves, so we are forced to Trim back the branches. As winter comes in, it halts the growth. And in the spring, We have to trim them-branches to force growth. To me, both sides are beautiful.
