Kathryn Kolb was raised in the rural environs of Charlottesville, Virginia. In 1983 she received a BA in History from Emory University in Atlanta, concentrating on ancient Europe and the Near East. First working as a free-lance photojournalist, Kolb later shifted her focus to fine art images of natural forms and landscapes. Her work is known for strong graphic elements, abstract constructions and unusual focus. In both film and digital image capture, all images are designed in the viewfinder without significant post processing. Collections include: Georgia Museum, (Athens, GA), Fulton County Arts Council, City of Atlanta, DeKalb County, Calloway Gardens, Goizueta Business School (Emory University), Piedmont Hospital, Emory Health Care, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, King and Spalding, Eversheds Sutherland, Barg Coffin Lewis &Trapp LLP, (San Francisco), Arthur M.
