Time period: 1660-1702. During the English Restoration period, nobles desired luxurious pieces with French, Dutch, and Oriental influence. Complete upholstered pieces were on the rise, as well as walnut wood used for decorative carving. The square stretchers, turned woodwork, and square shape of the chair are attributes of an English Restoration piece. The rolled arms and medium back are reminiscent of a club chair. This piece has been reupholstered by Jack's Do It Shop with fabric by SilverState.
