The Blake at Taos Ski Valley is a place where the currents of History, Culture and Art merge. Taos has been identified as the place where many roads end. The Santa Fe Trail, El Camino Real, the Northernmost of the 19 Pueblos, the Eastern border of the Navajo nomadic migration lands and the Western edge of the Plains tribes. These influences have forged a true melting pot of people and cultures. The broken wheel which led to the creation of the Taos Society of Artists and the subsequent residencies of Mabel Dodge Luhan, Georgia O'Keeffe and D.H. Lawrence eventually established Taos as a center of the international world of art.
