Have you ever wondered what it would be like to Escape from Alcatraz, but not sure if you're quite up to the Swim? Well, now is your chance to cross this off your bucket list in an up close and personal experience without needing to jump in the infamously cold and dangerous waters surrounding the famed prison.

Join Team Hydro as an honorary swimmer next summer as they make the treacherous crossing from Alcatraz Island to Aquatic Park in San Francisco (while seeking to raise even more awareness and funds for hydrocephalus research)!!

Meet up with the Team as they prepare for the swim. Learn about the currents and conditions that make swimming from Alcatraz such a challenge and be a part of the safety and strategy briefing which informs the swimmers of the conditions for the day and find out how swimmers will need to adapt their swim in real-time in order to best navigate the currents and conditions present that morning. Join in the excitement as you see how hydrocephalus inspires these brave swimmers to seek to Escape from Alcatraz each year and add your voice to our special psych-up cheer!

And then... join the Team as we ride out to the Island, and make your own Escape --either as a passenger in one of our rescue boats, or (conditions permitting) by being pulled in a small vessel by a Team Hydro swimmer!

You will see the Bay as few ever experience it from the water-- with the Golden Gate to the right, the Bay Bridge to your left, Alcatraz behind you, and the magnificent San Francisco skyline across the water ahead. Once you are successfully back on dry land, join with the Team as we celebrate, warm up with a cup of hot cocoa, and don our Team Hydro "Escaping the Rock for Good" T-shirts!
