Metal Mad House One Street Sign and 24"x18" River Styx Post Card Wall Art

The Mad House, which opened near the River Styx bridge over Lake Hopatcong in the 1920s during the prohibition era, was purported to be a hopping speakeasy.

The Mad House, along with the River Styx section of Lake Hopatcong, went on to be the center of social life at the lake, especially after WWII.

Many lake family histories include stories from the "wildest place on the lake", which featured two bars and dancing until the wee hours.

While not original to the building, this Mad House sign pays homage to one of the lake's most hoppin' spots. To compliment it, this package includes 24"x18" wall art of a blown up postcard of the River Styx section of Lake Hopatcong. This is a great prize for anyone who remembers the Mad House or likes to party at Lake Hopatcong!
