This bowl and lid were handcrafted by Sacramento Habitat volunteer crew leader, Gary Young.
Gary has worked in Nicaragua for Habitat's Global Village projects and it was there he first came across Cocobolo. This wood is often used in Nicaragua to craft custom ukuleles that are shipped worldwide.
This unique handcrafted piece is made of Cocobolo hardwood, also known as Nicaragua rosewood. The wood is sourced from Central America and is of limited supply.
The bowl itself measures 4 and 1/2 inches in diameter and lends itself to both decorative and functional uses. It is food safe.
