About Us

The Mayor's Office for Adult Literacy (MOAL) focuses on enhancing adult literacy advocacy and awareness and its impact on our economy, communities, families and individuals. In partnership with the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation, MOAL developed a Houston Adult Literacy Blueprint adopted by Mayor Sylvester Turner in 2021. The Blueprint identified 7 goals and set the stage for long-term strategic planning. Join us to salute the work of Adult Literacy and to support our strategic goals.
