5 HUNTER - 5 DAY ARGENTINA - URUGUAY DOVE HUNT
The most prolific bird present in the Cordoba Province is referred to as the eared dove - named for the dark patch of feathers located on the side of the bird's upper cheek that has the appearance of an ear. The eared dove resembles the mourning dove that most American hunters are used to shooting - if placed side by side, these two species are difficult to tell apart. The eared dove thrives in the Cordoba region primarily due to the farming practices and the vast number of roost areas. Recent estimates indicate that over 50 million eared doves reside in the Cordoba Region - more than any other place in the World!
San Cono is MGW's primary lodging location in the Department of Soriano, Uruguay, located near the capital city of Mercedes. San Cono is located within a major dove roost with excellent wing shooting minutes from the lodge. This area of Uruguay is also known for its perdiz hunting during the months of June and July. If you are a fisherman and want to experience an excellent cast and blast, San Cono is the place for you during the warm months of the year (mid-October - mid-April) with a day of golden dorado followed by an unforgettable dove hunt. San Cono is located 4 1/2 hours from the Montevideo International Airport (MVD) or 2 hours from the Colonia Ferry Terminal.
San Cono is a rustic, clean, and comfortable lodge. Relax after the hunt at the wine cellar and cocktail area, or enjoy the covered and heated pool with a poolside bar. San Cono sits on a large parcel of land where you can get away from the everyday busy life and enjoy the wonders Uruguay offers.
