Emma Linkugel from St. Henry District High School was inspired by her own student body for this piece. "Sometime near the end of the school year, I saw an entire row of students join hands during a prayer assembly. At that moment, I felt inspired and thought it was so beautiful how they were united in faith."

From a distance this piece looks like a print, but it is really a detailed pencil drawing. Emma's painstaking attention to the unique aspects of her art reveal her faith. Each student pictured is unique in appearance, underlying our belief in the sanctity of each human life. The stained-glass windows mark the building as a Catholic church, featuring the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, and the Holy Eucharist.

"This was the last piece I would make as part of my three years of art studies at St. Henry District High School. I wanted to make a piece that I will be proud of when I look back on my high school art. I was even more excited that my work could raise funds for those in need. Making the piece allowed me to express my gratitude for my Catholic school experience, and for my Catholic faith. I more fully realize God's grace in giving us a community of fellow believers by instituting the Church."

The colored pencil drawing is 18" x 26" and frame is 20" X 26" and includes one central hanging bracket.
