Dagmar Pánková was born in 1971 in ?eská Lípa. After graduating from the Secondary School of Applied Arts, where she studied painting on glass, worked as a designer in the company Egermann-Exbor, where she created her first utility designs.
In 1995 she travelled to Great Britain, where she attended courses in ceramics under the guidance of artist David Fry (Newcastle upon Tyne). In 1997, already as a freelance artist, she began to work on her new collections, in cooperation with leading Czech glass companies.

In 2005, she founded a design studio Bystro Design along with her partner L. Smejkal, and started to create design series for the studio at a larger scale.
Dagmar Pánková has always placed emphasis on the utility of forms, but her work also has its own hyperbole and wit. Some collections, such as Walt Disney Presents, are full of gesture and caricature, a set of bowls "Pads" with sanded inscriptions in Gothic script refers sarcastically to old German sayings.
