About the Artist:

In my work I explore the emotional complexities of the human subject through the lens of my own personal experiences. Valuing the emotional rawness of my subjects more than the reality in which my figures subsist. I don't think of my figures as 'nudes' but rather honest, sincere and raw without an armor or protective covering. The identity of the subjects is not important to me as I would like to invite the viewer to project themselves in the moment.

To me, there is something very beautiful in the intimacy of shared pain. In the past, we were often encouraged to suppress difficult feelings rather than acknowledge them. I believe there is something powerful and healing in being vulnerable in a safe and healthy way.

Often, the process of creation leaves me feeling exposed and vulnerable and it is then that I know I have created something meaningful. I have learned to view vulnerability no longer as weakness but as courage and the price of a meaningful life.
