Artist Statement

I believe we were born almighty. And if you can imagine something, you have the ability to materialize it. And the faster you realize it, the sooner the surroundings change to make it real.

I have always believed that everyone has the right to self-expression and to be different. It has become a solid foundation for my entire art practice. My mission is to empower people by activating their mode of feeling almighty and free of any boundaries, norms, and traditions established by society.

Using my body as a primary tool, I globalize the ideas of total freedom in self-expression, self-development, and self-love.

About the Artist

Stacy Lovejoy is a Florida-based visual and performance artist. She began performing and making art as a teenager, creating installations, fashion shows, and acting in the school plays.

Bored with classical teaching approaches, Lovejoy dropped out of school to pursue her passion by making art, dancing, learning metaphysics, and spending time in the forest.

Her first solo exhibition took place in 2008 and was organized in a desk drawer. The series of micro sculptures made of used chewing gum gained strong attention from viewers to the artist's personality and
the utopian world she translates.

Using a variety of media, including performance, painting, and sculpture the artist creates provocative, philosophical pieces popularizing the themes of omnipotence, eternal youthfulness, and immortality.
