Additional Information:
As her mother kissed her goodnight, she whispered
The faster you go to bed, the faster it will be your birthday!"
Bella gave her a big hug and said,
"I know, and it had BETTER be good!"
"You're rotten,"
her mother chuckled as she blew out the candle next to the door
and with that, the lights went out and it was dark.
Bella tried to sleep... She tried with all her might, tossing and
turning, imagining all the wonderful surprises soon to come.
She could hardly wait for her big day to arrive.
Finally after what seamed like forever,
Bella was able to close her eyes and drift into a delightful dream,
completely oblivious to the adventure that awaited her.

Artist Statement:
As a child it was comforting to create worlds I could escape into, writing stories, putting on plays and surrounding myself with music. I was, and am a dreamer. Inspired by Fairytales and Renaissance paintings and the characters that come to me while sleeping. It is important to remember your own child like wonder and the lands you would visit but have forgotten with time.
I enjoy exploring the balance of dark and light and the places that search brings me to. Much like wishes, my worlds are not always what they seem to be.I prefer to build sets and photograph with in those "walls" to create works that are fantastical but also very realistic. The best complement is when someone can't figure out what is "real", which is understandable It is easy to be confused by impossibility, as surprisingly only fraction of my work is created in post. I am aware of how ironic it is that I believe reality is important. At the end of the day I am labeled a photographer, but I am also a writer, designer and costume maker, a story teller. My finished work is made of paper, wood, antique knobs, sometimes working lights and found objects. Setting a goal to write more and include that writing has been my resent challenge.Making thoughts into things is important to me, what I have learned over the last 25 years is, I never want to let my characters down. They come to me and trust me to tell their story, I hope I am up to the challenge and you enjoy the results.
