About the Artist: I am an object maker and collage artist. I identify as a working class artist and as well as making art I work in a homeless hostel in Birmingham. I am interested in making my practice as environmentally sustainable as possible and because of this I am drawn to collage as it is an art form that has recycling and repurposing at its core. Collage traditionally has a high dependence on serendipity and I want change the making process and create pieces that are a lot more intentional. My works have a strong narrative quality, and I want to deliver a snapshot of a world that I have invented. In this world the relationship between humans and animals is explored. The relationship humans have with each other, is scrutinised, and I reference the body, gender and identity. I often use humour to present difficult situations and relationships.
