From my Introspection body of work--I look at the lack of connectivity in our world today. More than ever, with all of the technological connections we have now, many people are feeling emotionally isolated. There is a lack of connection in our society today; an emotional isolation. The virtual relationships we have seem to lack the depth of a real face to face interaction.

This work conveys feelings of isolation we all have from time to time; even though we don't always show it.

About the Artist:

Rampolla has garnered recognition in various platforms. His work has been featured in Dek Unu Fine Photography Magazine, and his book, titled 'Dignity No Matter What: The Light Within,' which showcases intimate portraits of individuals living on the streets was juried into the 12th Annual Photobook Show at the Davis Orton Gallery in Hudson, New York, and was also exhibited at the Griffin Museum of Photography in Winchester, MA.

Rampolla's work has been showcased in numerous gallery and museum exhibitions across the United States. Some notable exhibitions that have featured his work include PhotoSpiva at the George A. Spiva Center for the Arts, National Exhibition in Joplin, MO, the Soho Photo Gallery National Competition in New York, NY, the SE Center for Photography in Greenville, SC, the ongoing online LENSCRATCH Fine Art photography exhibition, as well as exhibitions at The Museum of Art and History in Maitland, FL, and The Museum of Art in Deland, FL.

"There is nothing ugly in art except that which is without character, that is to say, that which offers no outer or inner truth."--Auguste Rodin

For me, art is an ethical pursuit far beyond any motives of decoration.

In an era of spiritual void, we hold fast to a belief in our own reality. We hang on tenaciously as social media, civil division, wars, lack of human connectivity and artificial intelligence ascend to dominate our existence.

My work helps me find moments of clarity and get to what really matters. It is cathartic, deep work that looks inward and explores the source of emotion and consciousness itself.

People fascinate me. I am intrigued by what lies beneath someones' persona. Their values, beliefs, suppositions and the way they perceive the world, their shadow; in short, all that makes them who they are. This is much of what I express in my images.

Having said that, so much of myself permeates all of the images I make. My work speaks of personal experience and subjective reactions, both present and historic.

Everything that makes me who I am is expressed in my work.
