My inspiration for this work stems from the tendency to feel intensely with disregard for the damage it can do without proper care.

About the Artist:

Betrayal is a complicated and agonizing experience. I create an understanding of these feelings by relating to insects and plants that wondrously align with hurtful situations. Nature's interactions with each other allow me to communicate the betrayal cycle of shock, loneliness, and recovery. I use nature both as a savior and as an enemy. Leaves are a common element that serve as protectors and healers. While parasites are an element that serves as hurtful forces.

I frequently play with the idea of depicting nature elements that exude innocence to create a situation where they are nothing but a weapon ; just as some people can disguise. I also transform nature that is outwardly aggressive by constructing conditions where they are attempting to protect, which allows viewers to question hurtful desires.

Amplifying the intense feelings of life's deflating and elating experiences through an abstract(ed) figurative lens allows for a range of interpretations; the 'abstract(ed)ness' of my work creates ambiguity which speaks to the obscure and sheltered way in which I navigate my emotions.
