This Work is part of my series Fetishes. In this series I recover from my memory
plants, objects, and representations to create new forms and portraits that remit to
the idea of ephemerality of life and changing nature of beauty.
A anthropomorphic figure made of plant elements is confronted by a small toy representing a plastic soldier. The stupid game of man against nature, from its plastic insignificance.

Artist Statement:

My approach is figurative and focuses primarily on the human, understanding the human as a part of life and not its center; themes such as identity, self-awareness, chance in the formation of value of things and life itself. My work up to this point has materialized in autonomous series where narrative and format go hand in hand, often from a playful plastic game of repetitions, juxtapositions of colors, deformations in favor of psychological realism, and arbitrary use of elements and resources that I have in my studio.
One of the constants in my work is the creation of panels, which through repetitive use of representations create a narrative. The visual element of repetition, especially in the form of portraits, is a graphic obsession that captures a world where seriality is a defining feature, and for its representation I often turn to popular art, advertising, and kitsch. The final image is often tragicomic.
I feel comfortable working on projects, and practically all my work since I have dedicated myself professionally to artistic creation is articulated around narratives that materialize in pieces that often seek to function in a dual way: jointly and independently. Although my primary language is pictorial, I usually introduce performative and sometimes playful elements that seek to offer the viewer the possibility to be part, with their involvement, in the creation of the artwork.
