Title: Gelatina
Acrylic Paint, Crayola and Posca Markers
My muse image is heavily influenced by the Club Kid movement. Club Kids were a group of young New York City dance club personalities led by Michael Alig and James St. James in the late 1980s and early 1990s. This work is a representation of the confidence and style that I try to incorporate into my own life through my clothes and speech. The bright variety of colors display that in-your-face feeling of the club scene, the shine in his skin representing the sweat that comes with it. I wanted this to be very geometric, like he knows his moves and he knows what he's doing to you. All the movement comes from the multiple overlapping colors of arms behind him, showing that crowded and lively space that is the club. In the future, I hope to represent my many different muses from various backgrounds.
