Originally from Elkhart, Indiana, Curtis was raised by both his parents alongside four siblings. Curtis attended Elkhart Central High School, where he first realized how much he loved getting involved. From Captain of the tennis team to Secretary of the Class, Curtis enjoyed being a part of anything and everything he could participate in. Attending Indiana University allowed Curtis to explore many potential avenues, eventually majoring in Advertising and Creative Design. He discovered that advertising combined his passion for creativity with his passion for understanding and relating to others. Besides education, Curtis created a network of lifelong friends, especially with those in his collegiate a cappella group, Resting Pitch Face.

Curtis' parents taught him the value of hard work and, as a result, he has worked every job from construction to bartending. Curtis currently works as the Studio Coordinator/ Graphic Artist at Patrick Industries and bartends part-time at Antonio's Italian Ristorante. Juggling two jobs doesn't leave him with a ton of extra time, but Curtis knows how to make the most of the free time he has left. Although not married, Curtis is a romantic at heart; patiently waiting to meet that one woman who will make him settle down. Curtis believes in building and preserving relationships with new and different kinds of people. He believes there is nothing more valuable than keeping an open mind and appreciating different perspectives.

Dancing is something Curtis has always loved. This is evident in the many pairs of ripped pants he collected after 4 years at IU. That being said, this experience has opened his eyes as to what dancing is supposed to be. Curtis has absolutely loved working with his partner, Kayla Carpenter, and hopes to continue dancing after the competition. Kayla is extremely talented, patient, and supportive of most of Curtis' ideas. The pair shared many laughs over the course of their time together and Curtis couldn't ask for a better partner.

Curtis is truly humbled to be able to participate in the Still Dancing competition. As a 25-year-old member of his community, it is a privilege to be involved in something so impactful at such a young age. Curtis would like to thank his parents for their lifetime support of his many interests. He also thanks his partner, Kayla, for her time and friendship. Curtis would like to also thank everyone at Patrick industries for taking a chance on a goofy kid, providing him with a career that he loves, and supporting him here tonight. Huge shout outs go out to Ginny Russell, Sally Lee, Randy Rhoade, The Still Dancing Board, and The Samaritan Center for accepting Curtis into this incredible event. This has been a truly life-changing experience that Curtis will always treasure. And with that, the only thing left to do is dance.
