2.5" x 1.5"

Description:
Scale is fundamental to the piece's impact physically as well as conceptually. This portrait is from a Velasquez portrait that Edouard Manet saw in the early 1850's which inspired him to make a series of works that directly impacted the Impressionist painters of his time. This was a pivotal painting that led Modernism into the 20th century - still in conversation with artists today. The work speaks to the monumental within the miniature.
