Marietta P. Juanico was born and raised on the Pueblo of Acoma Indian Reservation. She has committed her time and heart as a school teacher for over 22 years with the Acoma Head Start Programs, and is currently teaching at the Haak'u Learning Center. Part of Marietta's educational skills also includes teaching the Acoma Keres Language to the young children.
As a young child, Marietta spend much of her time at old Acoma with her grandmother Helen Z. Patricio. It was then that her grandmother encourage her get the feel of working with the traditional Acoma clay making small pots and figurines. Today, Marietta is considered to be one of many Master Acoma Pottery Artisans creating attractive and inspirational native pottery. Her unique style is well recognized with the different shapes and designs/patterns as part of her artwork. Marietta showcases her traditional pottery in the well known Santa
Indian Market, Heard Museum Indian Fair & Market, Phoenix, Az., and the
Memorial Day Weekend Native Treasures Indian Market, Santa Fe.
Marietta is married to Melvin Juanico, with three children, Joshua, KatieAnn, MaryHelen, and four grandchildren, Ellianna, Diego, JulieMae, and EmmaRae.

The donated item for the 2023 St. Joseph School Fundraising Gala is a small
traditional pottery measuring approximately 4"x 4". Marietta still uses the yucca
(plant) brush to design her pottery. The fine line patterns represent "RAIN". The
brown color/patterns represent the "CLOUDS". Red color patterns represent the
"SUN", and the whiteness of the pot "Mother Earth".

8 in L by 8 in W, Polychrome plate with a fine line and geometric design made by Rebecca Lucario is a member of the Yellow Corn Clan, to Acoma Pueblo. She has been actively making pottery since 1965 and is recognized as the finest Acoma potter working today with her exquisite fine line eye dazzlers and Mimbres revival designs. Her pottery is thin and elegant, her designs perfectly executed.

One of her amazing plates was featured on the cover of the 2002 catalog for the highly acclaimed Changing Hands: Art without Reservation touring exhibit organized by the Museum of Art & Design in New York City. She gasped when she learned that the Museum created a giant banner of her plate and unfurled it at the opening of the exhibit. "The recognition kind of snuck up on me," she said.

Since 1983 Rebecca has been a consistent ribbon winner at the annual SWAIA Santa Fe Indian Market with many 1st and 2nd Place ribbons in her collection. In 2019 she added a 1st Place ribbon from Santa Fe Indian Market for a traditional miniature pot.
