Charles Mignon Premium Reserve Premier Cru Brut NV: Champagne, France (1.5L) $145

Region/History Notes: Charles Mignon is a 6th generation producer based out of Épernay, located in the Marne Valley district of Champagne. Of Champagne's roughly 357 villages that are approved to produce actual "Champagne" wine, just 42 of those villages hold Premier Cru status. This wine consists of 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay sourced from 8 Premier Cru villages across the Montagne de Reims, Marne Valley, and Côte de Blancs. The wine spends 24-36 months on its lees and receives an 8g/l dosage.

Tasting Notes: Ripe apricot, lemon pith, and orange zest with hints of yellow flowers and butterscotch, this wine has a charming roundness to the palate that, matched with its delicate bubbles structure and tingly minerality, is such a pleasure to drink. I can promise that this is even better with food-beef carpaccio in particular!
