The art piece that I created is titled "Confidence". My perception of confidence is the ability to endure each moment and interaction with a positive and motivated attitude. Within the first minutes of meeting Sara, I could sense her vibrant sense of self. She allows herself to be vulnerable and owns her insecurities. As a young adult female, there are many changes and stressors within every day that are overwhelming, without throwing cancer into the mix. Yet, Sara accepts and tackles both. She faces her struggles and setbacks as they come, but she never loses sight of her own goals. Sara's "Twist on Cancer" allowed me to process how much my physical appearance and health influences my identity and self-esteem. Would I allow others to see my vulnerabilities with the same pride? Or would I become a victim to pity? Sara possesses the confidence of a survivor. She has taught me that no matter what you are going through emotionally or physically, you are still you and nothing can change that.Shipping rates may apply if unable to pick-up night of the event.">Jacqueline Camody, "Confidence," 24 x 36 acrylic
