This classic Deruta pottery plate is decorated with traditional Deruta dragons. Deruta pottery, produced since the 16th century in the town of Deruta on the Tiber River, near Perugia, Italy, is a tin-glazed earthenware, or majolica, characterized by a unique mother-of-pearl, metallic luster and by certain decorative features, such as the plate's dragons.
