Miguel Rivera joined the Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI) faculty in 2008 as the chair of the printmaking department. An accomplished artist and educator, Rivera has exhibited his work in Argentina, Poland, Mexico, Japan, China, and the United States. Before KCAI, he chaired the art department at the University of Guanajuato, Mexico, and served as an associate professor of printmaking. Rivera holds an M.F.A. in printmaking and digital media from West Virginia University and a B.F.A. from Southern Oregon University.
He co-directs "Crossover," a collaborative art project launched in Guanajuato in 2006, featured internationally. Rivera's work is in collections worldwide and has been showcased at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Napoca Museum. He is represented by Habitat Contemporary KC in Kansas City, Nichols Atlanta in Georgia, and Davidson Gallery in Seattle.
