Sherry Cromwell-Lacy is an accomplished artist and curator with a rich background in the arts. She earned her degree from the Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI) in 1972 and has since played a pivotal role in shaping the local art scene. Cromwell-Lacy served as the Director of Exhibitions and Visiting Artist Program at KCAI, where she fostered creative exchange and showcased emerging talent. She was also the founding Administrative Director of the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, where she helped establish the museum as a leading institution for contemporary art. In addition to her curatorial work, Cromwell-Lacy is a dedicated educator, teaching in the Continuing Education program at KCAI. She has also worked as an independent curator and served as Gallery Director at The Writer's Place, a cultural hub for artists and writers. Cromwell-Lacy maintains her studio at the historic Livestock Exchange Building.
